The Bamboo
Resort - Sikkim
Overlooking a panoramic view of the Northeastern-Sikkim-Himalayas,
The Bamboo Resort is set on 3 acres of paddy field in the
picturesque farmer’s village Sajong. Only 25 min. from Sikkim’s
capital Gangtok the resort is situated in the midst of nature
yet only a stone throw away from the bustling capital. From
the Airport Bagdogra in Westbengal The Bamboo Resort can
be reached by jeep in 4.5 hours or by helicopter and jeep
in one hour.
All of the 10 rooms have attached bathrooms and in winter
are quipped with room heaters and hot water bags. Each room
is decorated individually with different color themes according
to Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese science that prescribes
ways of living in a state of harmony and balance with the
environment.
Most rooms have a balcony overlooking paddy fields, Gangtok
across the valley and the snow-capped mountains behind it
that mark the border to Tibet.
The main house is a big stone building built on the principals
of Feng Shui. All ten rooms are painted a different colour
and cover the four elements – root yourself inside the green
room or booster your energy sleeping in red. Trendy lamps
from Switzerland sit atop locally made bamboo tables, beds
are raised futons and all rooms have en suite bathrooms
and iron balconies with enriching mountain views.
Dinning
Meals are served buffet-style (alternating veg- and non-veg)
inside the marbled dining area or on the terrace, using
